Sex Surrogates, Cheryl Cohen Greene and The Sessions

I was so touched by the film THE SESSIONS that I had to head up to San Francisco to interview Dr. Cheryl Cohen Greene.  Dr. Greene is a real life surrogate partner who is portrayed in the film by actress Helen Hunt.  She is also the author of An Intimate Life and have over 40 years of experience in sex surrogacy.  I tried my hardest not to cry during this interview.  I believe that Dr. Greene's work is extraordinarily valuable in our world and this interview helped me to learn some valuable lessons about loving and accepting myself and others.  Watch and learn as we shed the light on the differences between surrogacy and prostitution, how people have been effected by a a more "hands-on" approach to sexual therapy and education and what happens when a surrogate falls in love with a client.  All this and more on Sex With Jaiya!

Guest Bio:

For the past forty years, Cheryl Cohen Greene has worked as a surrogate partner, helping clients to confront, consider, and ultimately accept their sexuality. Her journey began with a rigid Catholic upbringing in the 1950s, where she was taught to think sex and sexual desires were unnatural and wrong, Cohen Greene struggled to reconcile her sexual identity.  As the 1960s presented social upheaval and the Sexual Revolution, Cohen Greene found herself drawn to alternative sexual paths, and ultimately achieved a rich and rewarding career as a surrogate partner. Sex surrogacy as a profession was first developed by noted sex researchers Masters and Johnson in the 1960s, and since its inception has remained in the shadows. Dr. Cohen Greene's new book  An Intimate Life offers a candid look into the personal and professional life of a surrogate partner, examining the cultural and emotional ramifications of pursuing something most people do not immediately understand. Her work was also portrayed in the 2012 film The Sessions, where she was played by Helen Hunt.
